COLUMBIA TOWNSHIP, Ohio — Troopers from the Ohio State Highway Patrol are investigating a crash involving an ambulance in Columbia Township on Thursday evening.
According to an OSHP release, a Valley City Ambulance was transporting a patient and going northbound on State Route 252 with its siren activated and overhead lights on. When it entered the intersection of Route 252 and Route 82 with a red traffic light, the ambulance was struck by a Nissan Sentra going westbound.
The ambulance overturned and came to rest north of the intersection. The OSHP responded to a call at approximately 8:10 p.m.
Troopers say the occupants of both vehicles were taken to Southwest General Hospital with minor injuries. The incident remains under investigation.
