CLEVELAND — During Monday’s premiere of Lunch Break with Jay Crawford, Jay was surprised by a special message from his family.
Jay’s mom, his wife, Tracy, and their two children, Kirstyn and Corey, gave viewers a glimpse of Jay through their eyes.
After seeing the video for the first time, Jay shared the emotional reason being back in Northeast Ohio is so important to him.
Before heading off to college at Bowling Green State University, Jay talked about how his dad told him to write his goals down on a piece of paper, and one of those goals was to work at a television station in Cleveland, Ohio, one day.
Jay said his dad told him, “I know you will, I know you can do that.” Jay explained that he lost his father in October of 2008 to cancer. “That’s why being home to me is so important,” he said.
Jay added: “I took a really strange route to get here, but Dad I made it, and much thanks to you, and mom, and all of my brothers and sisters, and I couldn’t have done it without all of them.”
