CLEVELAND — Looking to bring joy to a friend or family member during the coranvirus pandemic while donating to a good cause? Chef Michael Symon may have just the thing.
On Monday, the Cleveland native and renowned chef announced that he has joined forces with Cameo to bring happiness to people during this difficult time.
" We are super excited, if you need a little birthday wish, some cooking advice, maybe just a favorite restaurant or just someone to give a friend a virtual hug,I am you guy," Symon said in a video posted to his Twitter.
Cameo is a video sharing platform that connects celebrities with fans at a cost. The benefit to Symon's partnership with the platform is that all of the money raised from his bookings will be donated to the Ohio Restaurant Employee relief fund.
"You would be doing a good thing, for good people," Symon said closing the video.
On March 15, Gov . Mike DeWine order the closing of all Ohio restaurant and bars, with the exception of carry-out and delivery service. The abrupt change left many employees with very few hours or completely without a job.
"Now is the time for Ohioans to respond," the Ohio Restaurant Employee relief fund website reads. Ohio is home to nearly 600,000 restaurant and hospitality workers and due to the coronavirus ( COVID-19) crisis they are in need of our help now, more than ever.
