Ohio State Highway Patrol: Pedestrian killed in Perry Township accident

The OSHP says alcohol is considered to be a factor in the incident.

STARK COUNTY, Ohio — A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle in Perry Township on Sunday evening according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

According to a press release, the accident happened on State Route (SR) 172 near Lennox Avenue SW. A pedestrian identified as 51-year-old Stacy Antill of Steubenville was attempting to cross SR 172 when a Ford pickup truck traveling east struck Antill.

Antill was transported to a nearby hospital where she was pronounced dead. 

The driver of the Ford was identified as 29-year-old Armando Castellanos of Massillon. He was uninjured in the accident.

The OSHP says alcohol is considered to be a factor in the incident. An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
