BARBERTON, Ohio — Just a month after retiring, Carol Duncan of Barberton just hit big money after winning the top prize worth half a million dollars in the Ohio Lottery’s $500,000 Cashword scratch-off game.
Duncan says she purchased the winning lottery ticket at the Circle K at 344 5th Street in Barberton late one night. She says seeing the $500,000 prize on her winning ticket was mind-blowing.
“I had to keep looking it over and over,” Duncan said. “I thought I won it before, but it was a mistake.”
With her winnings, Duncan plans to buy herself a house, a car and a car for her son, according to a press release from the Ohio Lottery.
$500,000 Cashword is a $10 scratch-off game -- and there’s still one top prize that’s waiting to be won.
