MINNEAPOLIS — Jacy Sheldon scored 32 points and Ohio State pulled away in the second half to earn an 83-75 win over Minnesota Saturday afternoon.
It was the second straight game Sheldon had scored 30-plus points and the third overall this season. The Buckeyes (13-3, 5-2 Big Ten) led by only one at halftime before outscoring the Golden Gophers 26-12 in the third quarter.
Sheldon also had seven assists and five rebounds, while Stark County native Taylor Mikesell added 17 points. OSU shot 52% from the field and 40% from 3-point range.
Sara Scalia led Minnesota (9-9, 2-4) with 22 points while Richmond Heights alum Deja Winters had 20. Compared to the Bucks, the Gophers made only 39% of their shots.
Now winners of four in a row, Ohio State will head back to Columbus Thursday night to host Maryland.
