CLEVELAND — College basketball will be showcased this holiday season at Cleveland's Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse as three Ohio teams will take part in a tripleheader.
On Saturday, December 30, the Legends of Basketball Showcase will feature the previously announced matchup between Ohio State and West Virginia, along with a pair of other contests.
The tripleheader will get underway with the Ohio Bobcats squaring off against the Davidson Wildcats. That will be followed by the Akron Zips taking on St. Bonaventure, with the Buckeyes and Mountaineers meeting in primetime. Game times will be announced later.
Ohio State and West Virginia previously met in Cleveland in 2019, with the Mountaineers capturing a 67-59 win over the Buckeyes at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse.
Tickets for the event will go on sale on Oct. 12 at www.rocketmortgagefieldhouse.com, but fans interested in attending the tripleheader can register to receive event information and gain access to early tickets through a one-day presale on Oct. 11 by signing up at www.LegendsofBasketball.com/Showcase.
The National Basketball Retired Players Association (NBRPA) is the title sponsor of the event. Intersport, a Chicago-based sports marketing and events agency, is the operator of the Legends of Basketball Showcase.
