Let's be honest: We could all use a little Tom Hamilton right now.
And while the status of the 2020 Major League Baseball season is up in the air, it appears we won't have to wait until the next time the Cleveland Indians are on the field to hear their radio play-by-play announcer's voice.
On Friday, the Indians' Facebook page announced a new initiative called "Home with Hammy," in which Hamilton will call home videos sent in by fans. According to the post, videos should be between 20-40 seconds long and can feature footage of "you, your child, your pet, etc. making a play."
Those looking to participate can do so by uploading the highlights they want to be narrated to the Facebook post here. Users are asked to include their name, age, and city, state.
Last month, MLB indefinitely delayed the start of its 2020 season due to concerns regarding the coronavirus (COVID-19). Since then, the league has looked at a variety of alternatives to running their season, including potentially having all 30 teams operate in the Arizona area.
