Severe Thunderstorm Watch, Flood Advisory in effect for several Northeast Ohio counties this evening

We are apparently not done with severe weather quite yet.

CLEVELAND — Editor's note: Video at the top of this story features today's weather forecast before any thunderstorm watches or warnings were activated.

After two straight days of stormy conditions impacting Northeast Ohio, we thought we might be in for a break on Friday. 

Not so much.

TRACK THE STORM: Interactive radar

The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for the southern and eastern part of the 3News viewing area until 11:00 p.m. this evening. Area counties in the watch zone include:

  • Ashland
  • Holmes
  • Mahoning
  • Richland
  • Stark
  • Tuscarawas
  • Wayne

There is also an Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for northeastern Lorain County, Cuyahoga County, and Lake County until 11:45 p.m. tonight. 

Between 2 and 3 inches of rain had fallen as of around 7 p.m.

Over in Avon, 3News Meteorologist Matt Wintz experienced heavy rains and storms while in a dugout at a softball game.
