CLEVELAND — Cleveland police are asking for the public's help identifying two "persons of interest" related to the murder of a 23-year-old man more than five months ago.
Authorities did not officially specify how the men could be connected to the killing, but released four separate surveillance videos of the men on Parkgrove Avenue in North Collinwood. The victim in this case, Marquez Swanson, was shot just a block away on Huntmere Avenue.
Officials say Swanson was sitting in his parked car on the 15900 block of Huntmere back on Aug. 13, 2021, when two "unidentified males" fired into the vehicle before fleeing. Swanson tried to drive away, but later crashed into a semi-truck on East 152nd street before being pronounced dead at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center.
The footage provided by the Cleveland Division of Police shows both persons of interest jogging or running at multiple points. However, only one's face ends up clearly on camera, while the other's is mostly obscured (Photo can be seen above).
Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts or identities of these two individuals is asked to immediately call investigators at (216) 623-5464. Anonymous tips can also be provided to Cuyahoga County Crimestoppers at (216) 252-7463 and potential reward money is available.
