The Cleveland Division of Police is investigating a shooting incident from last week that took the life of a 31-year-old man and wounded two others.
The incident happened on Thursday evening at around 10:40 p.m. in the 2400 block of Woodhill. When officers arrived at the scene, they found three people had sustained gunshot wounds. EMS transported the victims to University Hospitals.
A 31-year-old man who suffered multiple wounds was pronounced dead. A 30-year-old man and a 16-year-old girl were wounded.
A preliminary investigation by homicide detectives indicates that the victims were attending a gathering for a memorial in a courtyard at the location. They were sitting on a guardrail near the parking lot.
Shots were fired, possibly from the rear of the nearby apartment buildings, and the three suspects were struck. Approximately 5 vehicles were also struck by gunfire. No arrests have been made.
