CANTON, Ohio — A 17-year-old boy has been arrested on two charges connected to a Canton shooting during the weekend.
Authorities say Canton officers responded to the incident around 4:07 a.m. Saturday in the 3100 block of Gilbert Circle NE.
Upon their arrival, officers found the 26-year-old shooting victim laying in the grass between apartment buildings.
“The victim as unresponsive and had suffered an apparent gunshot wound to the side rib area,” police said in a press release Monday morning.
The man, who is also from Canton, was taken to Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The teen suspect was caught Sunday and charged with attempt to commit murder and felonious assault. He was taken to the Multi-County Juvenile Attention Center on Faircrest Avenue SW.
