CANTON, Ohio — The Canton Police Department has arrested a 16-year-old boy for the murder of two men at an apartment building last week.
According to a release from the department, Jayvion Burkes has been charged with murder, complicity to commit felonious assault, complicity to commit murder, felonious assault and tampering with evidence. On Wednesday, Burkes was transported to Multi-County Juvenile Attention System on Faircrest Ave. S.W.
On March 28, officers were dispatched to the apartment building in the 3500 block of Ellis Ave. NE at around 2:45 p.m. for a report of two people shot. When police arrived, they found two unresponsive male victims in an apartment.
Both men were pronounced dead at the scene by the Stark County Coroner's Office from apparent gunshot wounds. The victims have been identified as 19-year-old William Harvey of Canton and 19-year-old Jermiah Burton of Canton.
The investigation is continuing at this time.
