AKRON, Ohio — Akron fire crews responded to calls about a Montgomery Avenue apartment building on fire early Monday morning. Residents reported flames, smoke and evacuations from the structure.
Emergency fire crews arrived to find heavy smoke showing from the rear of a two-unit apartment structure.
The fire was under control at approximately 2:47 a.m. Two residents were treated for injuries. One was taken to a local hospital. The other was treated on the scene but refused transport to a medical facility.
There were no other injuries involving residents or firefighters for this incident.
This incident remains under investigation by the Akron Fire Department.
