WESTLAKE, Ohio — A 20-year-old man was arrested after leading Westlake police on a chase that started at Crocker Park.
Westlake police say that at around 9 p.m. on Friday they learned of an unoccupied vehicle on Main Street in Crocker Park that was owned by a man who had warrants from multiple agencies for probation violation, fleeing from police and theft.
At around 10 p.m. officers attempted to stop the man as he returned to his car. The suspect ran to his vehicle and fled the area before striking two police cruisers while driving onto I-90 East.
While Westlake police pursued the vehicle, the suspect struck another vehicle on Detroit Road in Rocky River. The suspect then fled on foot but was soon taken into custody. Police say that a firearm was recovered from inside the vehicle.
North Olmsted, Lakewood and Bay Village's police departments assisted Westlake and Rocky River in the apprehension of the suspect.
