CANTON, Ohio — The Canton Police Department is investigating a double shooting that left a 21-year-old man dead and an 18-year-old woman hurt early Monday morning, a news release said.
It happened around 3:15 a.m. at an apartment in the 1600 block of Oakmont Avenue N.W.
Canton police say officers were called there for a shooting and found the two with gunshot wounds in the living room.
The man had been shot in the chest and was pronounced dead at the scene. The woman was shot in the abdomen and was "alert and talking" to first responders, the release said. She was taken to Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital where her condition is currently unknown.
