The US Marshals Services confirmed to 3News that Stout had been wanted since January after failing to show up for a scheduled trial in which he faced charges of felonious assault on a peace officer, carrying a concealed weapon, resisting arrest and other weapons violations. The charges come as the result of a January 2021 traffic stop in which he allegedly stabbed Broadview Heights officer Ryan Tieber in the head and face.
On Thursday, the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation's crime scene unit was called to assist with processing at the scene. Initially, it was believed that hypothermia played a role in the man's death.
