TALLMADGE, Ohio — An explosion in a Tallmadge storage unit on Monday morning resulted in one man dying and two females being injured.
The Tallmadge Fire Department says that it received a call at 8:39 a.m. on Monday regarding an explosion at Korkan Granite, located at 4561 Crystal Parkway in Tallmadge. Upon arrival, crews found evidence of an explosion, which resulted in one male fatality.
The victim has been identfied as 25-year-old Jacob Williams from Tallmadge.
One female suffered serious, but non-life-threatening injuries, while another woman suffered a medical emergency and was treated and released. The explosion happened in a storage unit outside of the Korkan Granite lot.
Stare Fire Marshals investigators have been called to the scene and the cause of the explosion remains under investigation. More on this story as it develops.
