Rist, who passed away earlier this month in Florida, was the owner of D & L Towing in Twinsburg. He has been noted as someone who was a successful business owner, a passionate supporter of the public safety forces in Northern Summit County, a fan of NASCAR, a Teamster, and a longtime member of the Twinsburg Rotary Club. Rist is said to be remembered for his joking demeanor, quick wit, and a generous helping hand to anyone that needed it.
As a tribute, the Twinsburg and Macedonia fire and police departments will be joining 15 local tow agencies in his funeral procession from the United Methodist Church in Macedonia to Crown Hill Cemetery in Twinsburg. The funeral services are scheduled to take place from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. and will feature a drive past the D & L Towing yard on Chamberlin Road.
