SOLON, Ohio — A "major gas leak" was causing traffic problems in Solon, but road closures in the area have since been lifted.
According to the Solon Police Department, the US 422 eastbound exit ramp at SOM Center Road (SR 91) was closed, as was SOM Center Road southbound at the US 422 overpass.
"Southbound cars will have to divert onto 422 west or turn around in advance of the closure," police had advised. "No traffic in that area until the gas risk is mitigated."
Northbound SOM Center road and other entrance and exit ramps in that area remained open.
Police suspect that a construction crew working in the area nicked a gas line, causing it to rupture. No injuries have been reported and no businesses were closed.
