CLEVELAND — I-90 west has been reopened near the I-271 split after a head-on crash closed all lanes for several hours on Saturday.
According to the Willoughby Hills Police Department, officers responded to the scene of the crash on Saturday at approximately 3:18 p.m. after calls of a two-vehicle accident.
When officers arrived to the scene, they found a Toyota Camry and an Acura sedan disabled, both with heavy front end damage.
The 38-year-old driver of the Toyota was trapped in the vehicle when officers arrived and needed to be extracted by fire and rescue personnel. He was life-flighted to MetroHealth Medical Center.
The 70-year-old female driver of the Acura sedan suffered serious injuries as a result of the crash. She was transported to a nearby hospital via ambulance.
