AKRON, Ohio — Akron police were called to a shooting around 10:30 a.m on Tuesday at a home in the 500 block of Morgan Avenue. When police arrived, they found a 29-year-old man that had been shot in the abdomen.
Officers administered first aid until EMS arrived. The victim was transported to Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospital where he later died.
The Summit County Medical Examiner's Office will conduct an autopsy. The victim's name has not been released pending family notification.
Police learned that some sort of altercation had taken place between two men just prior to the shooting. A 33-year-old male was detained for questioning.
No arrests have been made and detectives are investigating.
