CLEVELAND — A pedestrian was struck by a Cleveland city vehicle on Friday afternoon and is in critical condition.
According to a statement from the city of Cleveland, at approximately 2:30 p.m., a Cleveland Public Works vehicle was traveling in the area of West 72nd and Lorain Avenue. Suddenly, a pedestrian tried to jump onto the running boards of the vehicle and was struck.
Cleveland EMS told 3News that the pedestrian was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center and is in critical condition.
The incident is being investigated by the Cleveland Division of Police's Accident Investigation Unit.
