STRONGSVILLE, Ohio — A 12-year-old boy was fatally struck by a car in Strongsville on Thursday night.
The Strongsville Police Department and Strongsville Emergency Medical Services were dispatched to 16671 Prospect Rd. for a motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian at 9:13 p.m. Upon first arrival, members of the Strongsville Fire Department and Emergency services located a young child who had been struck by a car and was unconscious and not breathing.
First responders administered life-saving measures to the child. The child, who was later identified as Donaven Eskander, age 12, was then transported to Southwest General Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
"We extend our sincere condolences to Donaven's family," the Strongsville Police Department said.
An investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
