AKRON, Ohio — A 28-year-old was killed in a motorcycle crash that took place on Goodyear Blvd. in Akron in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
According to Akron Police, traffic officers responded to the single-vehicle crash at 12:20 a.m. A preliminary investigation determined that the 28-year-old operator of a Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling eastbound on Goodyear Blvd. approaching Ruckel Road. The operator lost control and crashed the bike, and sustained critical injuries after being ejected.
The operator of the bike, whose name is being withheld at this time, was transported to Summa Health Akron City Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
Information based on the investigation suggests that speed may have played a role in the fatal crash. It is unknown if alcohol was a factor and the incident remains under investigation.
