MONTVILLE, Ohio — A 71-year-old man fatally drowned at the Hidden Lakes Family Campground in Geauga County on Saturday afternoon.
According to the Geauga County Sheriff's Department, the 71-year-old man went into the pond at the campground and didn't come out right away. Authorities were called at approximately 12:40 p.m. and the man's body was recovered by the Montville Fire Department. Life-saving measures were administered, to no avail.
The man's girlfriend told deputies that the man was a strong swimmer. An autopsy will be performed.
